Reserves hit four
Stafford Town Ladies Reserves played a very impressive game, with Laura Simmonds scoring the first from a spectacular run on the left side of mid-field. The next goal came soon after that, and Melissa Muddimer opened her scoring account with a fantastic shot. At this point Town became unstoppable with Janie Horne scoring from her own cross which found the back of the net. Town then won a corner Stacey Boreham stepped up to take it, with the strike of the ball she also saw her own cross go into the back of the net. The ladies played well and hope to do the same again.
Stafford Town Ladies Reserves 7-1 Shrewsbury Town Reserves
A newly formed Stafford Town Ladies Reserves team who have only played together once before, began with confidence and Laura Simmonds found the back of the net in the 2nd minute. Town were 6-1 up at the break after a solid first half with another goal for Laura Simmonds and also Becky Kershaw, Alice Nuttall, Reanne Barnes-Davies (2) with a deflection from Micheala Oakley.
Town continued to dominate the play throughout the second half making sure Shrewsbury were unable to penetrate the solid Town defence. Millie Millington rounded off the scoring with a header from a corner.
