The New Stadium
Stafford Town FC have recieved £13,000 towards our main stand in the new stadium from Areva T&D who are now an official club sponsor.
Gordon Evans - We are pleased and delighted to have areva T&D on board. Our mission is to create a welcoming environment, one which everyone will call home. Although football is the main activity, we want to delivera truly unique community project which provides other forms of entertaining including youth club activities and as well as bingo and cabaret nights.
Area T&D's support will contribute towards substantial facility elements including floodlights, perimeter fencing and a spectator stand
The new ground is due to be opened in October.
First Building Work on Stadium
Snow and frozen ground failed to stop the first sod of soil being cut to start work on Stafford Town's new 'Sporting Hub'.
We have been given more than £600,000 to boost work to provide football coaching in the community.
The grants from football foundation and Sport England will help creat a permanent base for Stafford Town FC at Stafford Cricket Club.
The project has also been topped up to almost £1million with help from Stafford Borough Council, Staffordshire Environmental Fund and all the fundraising by each section of the club.
The stadium will include a floodlit stadium, a 170 seater stand, four mini-pitches and a new six- changing room pavillion.
Hopefully the new stadium should be ready for the start of next season!!
Well done all involved with any fundraising they have done for the club!

Stafford Town FC Chairman Gordon Evans, said: Stafford Town is a Charter Standard Community Club, providing football for boys and girls, men and women, in a quality environment. In September 2007 the Club was voted Charter Standard Club of the Year for the whole of Staffordshire by the Staffordshire Football Association. The Club is very proud of this honour. To achieve this the Club has worked extremely hard in ensuring that its commitment to a Development Plan was adhered to, and that all of the things we did, we did them extremely well.
Over the past three and a half years, the Club has been heavily involved with the Stafford Borough Council, Staffordshire FA and the Football Foundation, in tandem with Sport England, in pulling together a proposal for six new changing rooms, conference room and kitchen, along with mini-pitches. Thanks to the fantastic help of all of these people, plus financial help from The Staffordshire Environmental Fund, we managed to get the proposal through local authority planning in August, and then sent the total package off to the Football Foundation for ratification.
Steve Town, Regional Director Sport England, congratulating the Club said: This award from Sport Englands Community Club Development Programme, delivered through the Football Foundation, will enable Stafford Town Football Club to offer more sporting opportunities to priority groups women and girls and people with disabilities. Providing the Club with its own ground, will also enhance the work it does to nurture talent and provide sporting pathways for young people, enabling them to reach their full potential. This a great grassroots sport project, and I congratulate everyone involved in achieving this award and I look forward to visiting the new facility next year.
Port Vale Links
Stafford Town is pleased to announce that it now has formal links with Port Vale Football Club. As a Charter Standard Community Club Stafford Town is very keen to provide an ethical path for talented youngsters from junior to professional football. It will not only benefit the talented youngsters who make it through to the Port Vale Centre of Excellence, it will also benefit all other youngsters in the Club.
