Stafford Town U/16's resumed league action on Sunday at home to local rivals Topps 2000. The game was well supported and Stafford dominated the game from the start going in at half time leading by an opportunist goal from Sean Bartle. The second half was much the same and Towns dominance was further shown when Joe Steadman scored a magnificent goal from a 30 yard free kick. Town would have scored more goals but for the Topps goalkeeper but ran out comfortable winners by 2-0. They travel to Chasetown next Sunday hoping to continue where they left off today. Man of the match went to Town's Joe McDonagh.
Shire Oak Hurricanes 5 Stafford Town U16's 2
Town played their second Lichfield and District league game on Sunday away to a strong and physical Shire Oak Hurricanes. Town played well in spells but it was not enough and they eventually lost 5-2 with goals coming from Ben Hume and Joe Steadman. Man of the match went to Stafford's centre half Tom Wright who was dominant throughout the game. Stafford play again next Sunday against Beacon Colts at their new home venue of Stafford Grammar School KO 2.30pm.
